Thank you for all who attended our ISNA Educational Forum workshop. Please find below the PowerPoint that was used. Please note some pages have been deleted due to student privacy.
Each year our school celebrates Muslim Heritage month. We learn about important figures from the past and present who have made an impact on the world. I begin my unit by teaching my students about a few figures from history through a Powerpoint presentation and then we fill in facts about them in our interactive notebooks. Linked is the Powerpoint and the interactive notebook glue-ins for your students to add to their journals and fill after the presentation. My Islamic Studies classes are 30 minutes long so I do one person a day and fill in the information for that person as a class. There is also fun worksheets you can find from the 1001 Inventions website here! For my second graders I play the mini movie to excite them about the month. That video is found here!
This is a fun and exciting way to display the Five Pillars of Islam in your classroom. Each pillar comes with a colorful Muslim child picture and a brief description of each of the pillars of Islam. Great for laminating and using year after year.
Make learning the shahadah fun and interactive. This packet comes with two booklets; one with a Muslim boy theme and the other a Muslim girl theme. Students will enjoy filling in the information while coloring in the pictures that relate to their culture.
Activities in the booklet include: -Write the shahadah in Arabic -Write the meaning of the shahadah in English -Fill in boxes for the rewards of saying the shahadah -A blank page for the students to write a story or a summary of what they learned about the shahadah -Fun pictures of Muslim boys and girls throughout! Find it at TPT here! Alhamdulillah week 1 of school has ended and my 1st graders created this cute foldable about their Islamic Studies class to share with their parents. I prepared the foldable beforehand by folding a white piece of paper leaving an inch hanging and then folding a piece of construction paper over it to leave two inches at the bottom. I made sure not to cover the two white pieces of paper so that the students could write a sentence about the class. Then the students glued on the heading and the masjid topper themselves. You can download the heading and the masjid topper here!
